Contents
Files
By files are meant source files. They are for example JPEG files that are provided by a photo camera, or bitmaps from a scanner or any other files that are supported. They can be added to the files tab as explained in the section .
Formats
A format defines what happens during the conversion with the source files. A format contains for example the width and/or height of the output image, some processing steps and the final file format. It is defined in the format tab as explained in the section . There may be multiple formats for a conversion; for example one may be for Email as low quality JPEGs, one for your WEB Page as medium quality JPEG or PNG. Each format can be saved in a separate directory.
Conversion
During the conversion each source file is converted in all selected formats. The conversion can be paused or stopped. At the end of the conversion, depending on the settings, AZImage can automatically close or even shutdown the computer.
What can you do with AZImage
Convert large amounts of files and eventually upload them to Google Picasa© to share them with your friends. Change image dimensions retaining or not retaining aspect ratio.
How you should use AZImage
AZImage was designed to help you resize and convert images quickly. One typical application is resizing JPEG files from the photo camera. The integration with Windows Explorer makes the task straight forward, just select the files, either drag and drop to the AZImage window, or right click and select from the context menu the desired format. AZImage starts converting your files automatically and if selected also quits automatically. The files can also be uploaded to Google Picasa © during the same run.
What cannot be done with AZImage
AZImage was not designed as an image processing application. Its intendeed use is similar to a batch conversion utility and therefore the user interface is designed for maximum efficiency and not to allow you to process images one by one.
